               CLIMBING TOCLLARAJU (6,034) 04 DAYS

Route: Northwest ridge (Normal Route)
Elevation Gain: 1032m from the high camp, 1632m from valley floor

Maximum altitude: 6034 m. (Tocllaraju summit).
Difficulty: Hard or difficult.
Duration: 4 days / 3 nights.
Preferred time: May – September.
Location: Cordillera Blanca.
Average temperature: Between 13° C – 23° C during the day/ at night -05°C to – 02°C on the top – 10°C

To climb this mountain it is very important to be well acclimatized and it is recommendable to climb first a five thousand mountain. Tocllaraju is relatively simple and easy going mountain, but it has its tricky parts that most of the people are able to handle. There are two walls on the route, the first one of 50-55 degrees before the ridge and the other one with 50-60 degrees just before the summit.

ITINERARY

DAY 01: HUARAZ - PASHPA - ISHINCA BASE CAMP (4300M.)
After the breakfast in the Hotel, at 07:00hours we will go to pick up you and start drive to the North side of Huaraz city to Paltay, from there we will drive up to Pashpa at (3670m), it will takes 1 hour drive, Pashpa is the start hike, where our donkeys and donkey driver will be waiting to transport our logistics, from Pashpa to Ishinca takes 6 hours hike, there is the Huascaran National Park control, where you will register with your passport, arriving to the base camp of Ishinca. Then we will check our climbing equipment for the next day, overnight Camping at 4300m.

DAY 02: BASE CAMP - CAMP 1 OF TOCLLARAJU (5200M)
Breakfast in the Base Camp and free morning to check our climbing gears, after the lunch at 12:00m hours we will start going up to the Camp 1 of Tocllaraju, after 2 hours climb up will be arriving to the Glacier where we will put our climbing gears to continue climbing over the glacier to the Camp 1, overnight over the glacier.

DAY 03: CAMP 1 - SUMMIT TOCLLARAJU (6035M) - DOWN TO BASE CAMP
After the breakfast in the Camp 1, we will be start to climb up to the Summit for about 5 hours to get the summit approximately, arriving to the top at (6035m) we will enjoy the splendid views of different peaks around like: Huascaran, Santa Cruz, Ranrapalca, etc. after that immediately will return to the Camp 1, arriving to camp base, overnight in the Base Camp.

DAY 04: BASE CAMP - PASHPA - HUARAZ
After the breakfast around 08:00hours, downhill to Pashpa, before you will register in the Huascaran National Park your return, lunch on the way, it will takes 3 hours half to Pashpa where our private transfer will be waiting to transport to Huaraz, arriving to Huaraz around at 3pm.
