Wilcacocha Lake is one of the most beautiful glacier lake in the Cordillera Blanca, besides is ideal for people, who are looking for acclimatization, because after that they attempted treks or climb with more time and higher elevation in Cordillera Blanca & Huayhuash.
Start from Huaraz around 9:00 am, 25 minutes transport to the south reach Bridge Santa Cruz then start walking by a route few minutes, then to the Left catch the Single Trail all uphill 45 minutes till the Village Santa Cruz, skip only walk at the right side, views always to the Callejon de Huaylas rivers farms keep wlaking pass near by a small school and finally after 3 crossing the mean route and 2.5 Houras we will walk easier to the North and reach the small Lake Wilcacocha. The view is one of the best from the Cordillera Blanca Around 30 to 40 mountains view only from this point. After enjoying the great views we will return to the same place where we started the walk avarage time considerate 4.5 Hours round trip.
